Howl at the Moon
Recently Kandy came to me, after I reset my CafePress store (http://www.cafepress.com/bluekandy) and asked if I would design something for her. She loves wolves and foxes. So, she asked for a wolf design. She also wanted something that you would see on a cheer-leading outfit. So, I began thinking. Many school designs have bold lettering to really stand out and catch your attention to their mascot or school name. The tail swish on the end of the lettering was popular at one time and I started out with the idea of having the y end in a swish with “Howl at the Moon” inside the swish. It didn’t work out like I had planned.
Kandy also loves the color blue (hence “blueKandy”). So, I started again and this time took a logo approach using Adobe Illustrator to take a wolf photo and vectorize it. With a little bit of drop shadow and highlight, I got “Wolfy” to stand forward and shadowed the wolf to be present but also fade into the background.

She loved it! I have to admit…I kind of like it too! Thanks to her inspiration, and request, I decided to update my store and make it “our store” which instead of being known as TUDesign, is now known as blueKandy Gift Shop.
